In our 20th year, we had the good fortune to grow, expand, and relocate to our new home on what was originally named Empire Street. The city soon recognized us by renaming that street to AleSmith Court, a rare honor. Now at our larger facility, we continue to explore our passion for complex beers and expand our barrel-aging program. We have thus created Noble Empire, a brawny, complex, imperial version of a traditional English-style porter as a tribute to craftsmanship of the highest quality. Rich with chocolaty flavors derived from a variety of specialty malts, this beer has patiently found the delicate balance between sweet notes of vanilla and toast from the bourbon barrels. Enjoy this tribute to the former Empire Street and its noble evolution for the sake of craft beer. Cheers!

Bottle from Seattle. Pours a pitch black hue with a small brown head. A big licorice and roast nose. Sweet, licorice, heavy roast. Lighter bourbon. Damn good.

Cask at GBBF '22 day 1, 02/08/22. Light mahogany brown with a beige head. Nose is toffee, dark malts, nutty tones, dried fruit rind, earthy roast. Taste comprises fruit cake mix, roast malts, cocoa powder, toffee, charr, molasses, dried fruit rinds. Full bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Not bad for a cask affair at 11% but for me lacks depth for the high boost.

Bottle, 75cl. A dark brown to black beer topped by a minimal sized beige head. Alcohol, roasted malts, toffee, raisin, brown sugar and generic dried fruits on the nose. Some woody vanilla too. It's full-bodied and sort of dryish on the nose, pleasantly carbonated and lightly warming. Coffee, roasted malts, alcohol, booze, dried fruits, toffee and a touch of soy sauce in the flavor. Everlasting finish with lots of pleasant flavor. Sure not an easy drinkable beer, but delicious indeed. Sharing recommended. 201231
