Bottled. Dark coppery brown colour with a beige fluffy head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is chocolate, some roasted malts, dried fruits, mild figs and quite much coffee. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, some figs, mild toffee and quite a bunch of coffee, which is on the verge of giving the beer a slight sourish edge.

Botella 75 cl en Delirium Cafe. Bruselas. 14..09..2017. (r73). Sin lote ni fdcpref legibles en etiqueta. Color negro con bastante espuma beige oscuro persistente. Sabores maltosos tostados con toques de cacaos y especiados, lactosas y frutos secos, nueces, acabando con suaves cafés ligeramente torrefactos. Mejora bastante al calentar, sobre todo en sensación de cacao. Cuerpo medio con ligera densidad y suave sensación alcohólica. Espumosa y densa con bastante gas. Bastante buena, sobretodo al final. Para repetir.

Bottled. A black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of citrusy hops, roasted malt, and phenols. The flavor is sweet with notes of phenols and roasted malt, leading to a tart finish.

75 cl. Deep brown with off white creamy heady, lots of lacings. Served room temperature. Aroma is coffee, cocoa, slight alcohol, raisins, nuts, slight sherry like note. Taste is caramelly sweet upfront, raisins, roasted notes, big on malt, later peppery bitterness and alcohol, yeasty notes, dry coffee in the finish. Big body, medium carbo. Not the ordinary overly sweet stout, more "grown up" nuances if you like.

Found a bottle as a last one ( back of the fridge ) in a bar that wasn’t aware of the different versions. luck, I guess? Pours dark brown, very big white head. Smell is intense, roasty. Taste is roasted malts, some dark chocolate. dark fruits, indeed. very rich, yet a bit simple. Not silky, as I love in stouts, and has ( still) a certain level of bitterness I love in IPA’s, but not in stouts. A typical Belgian stout, of far above average quality, but Belgian stouts are in no way a match to what is being brewed in the rest of the world...

Vintage bottle tasted at 666 in Uccle near Brussels. Creamy, loose, off-white head over a deeply bronze beer, but not opaquely black. Pleasant aroma of home made caramel, chocolate and cocoa, bourbon, raisins, banana, sherry-like oxidation and walnuts. Candied sweet onset, but not too sugary or cloying, candied dates and raisins, banana, strong hearty umami flavour, soft carbo, roasted and caramelly malts, bittering and rich, toasted bread, peppery hops and brandy-like alcohol in the finish. Belgian style stout, not as roasted and ’dense’ as many other stouts, but a very good beer for sure.
