Bottle (at Craig’s?). Pours black, nose is chocolatey, taste is sweet roast chocolate, too fizzy.

Bottle. Opaque black liquid with medium to big beige head. Aroma of licorice, dried fruit, chocolate, pumpernickel, bread and light ash. Taste is dry and light to medium bitter with notes of licorice, bread, light ash and dried fruit. Medium bodied with medium to high carbonation. Quite OK.

Bouteille(750ml):Deep brownish-black coloured, big loose tanned head, solid sweetish-bitter chocolatey and fruity (dried red berries) nose, hints of vanilla and chocolate cake; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied and relatively soft; lingering soft sweetish chocolatey and fruity finish, caramel included, followed by a bitter aftertaste. Very fine and well crafted stuff…

Bottle shared at Moeder Lambic. Pours near black with a massive tan head. Aroma of roast, light lactose, chocolate, caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and over moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Nice brown creamy longlasting head. Aroma is rich, dark malts, licorice, cocoa, chocolate, caramel, rubber, broth, dark sugar, vanilla. Taste is slightly dry and grassy, dark malts, grass, licorice powder, cocoa, green soap, hay. Medium bitterness, thin mouthfeel. Fair enough, a little boring when it comes to taste.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell, London during the Birthday Celebration of Jack & Leighton - many thanks to Matteo for this one! Pours black-brown with a large, dark tan foam head. Lightly tangy dark malt nose, lightly floral, with notes of citrus. Moderately tangy flavor, light to medium sweet, with a bit of ash and burnt toast. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly tangy dark malt finish with more ashy roast. Decent.

Bottle - thanks to Matteo at Jack and Leightons birthday beeorama, 13/04/13. Light black with a thin tan head that retains well. Nose is dark malt, light chocolate, toffee notes, touch of yeast. Taste comprises dark malts, chocolate, light funk, yeast esters, dark fruits, toffee fudge. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Ok stuff - a little on the thin side.
