A rainy autumn night, picture yourself in the forest. Dark, very dark, cold, the weather is like in England, lots of rain. You are lost, in the background you hear the wolf howling. Experience it when drinking our Howling Wolf. Howling Wolf is here to stay. Give him a howl, and Howling Wolf will wolf you around. This bock is bocking your bockness. Nothing like any other!

Sampled from tap at the brewpub. Clear, brownish amber with a beige head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, some chocolate and a bit of nuts. Sweetish-malty taste of caramel, nuts and some chocolate, followed by a short, slightly bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!

Cask at the Fidler, Den Hague, 26/09/15. Very lightly hazed chestnut amber with a beige covering. Nose is biscuit, toffee, dark malts. Taste comprises bitter fruit shreds, brown bread, dark malts, light spice. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. So so.

Cask at the brewpub. Hazy reddy amber coloured pour with a lasting cream coloured head. Aroma is sweet nutty malts, red berry. Subdued nose. Flavour is composed if nutty malts, biscuit, little mineral, hint if jam on toast. Palate is semi sweet, drying finish, highish carbonation. Decent enough.

Cask taster @ The Fiddler Brewpub. Part of their Beer Flight. Shot glass sized. Only one of the 7 beers that I had by them that I would describe as decent, enjoyable even. Darker brown orange with zero head. Nose is orange, light bitter orange peel hop,… Bitter / sweet orange peel taste, orange, rind, sweetish, light sugar, touch watery, light caramel,… Sugary & tad watery body. Not really what I would expect from a Dunkler Bock (I didn’t pick it out as such) but this actually drinks okay.
