Tasting at SF
Dirty brown color. It smells like stagnant water. Dirty malts, earthy, some Weizen spices, astringent final.
Messy, not good.

Bottle - Sweet carmalized banana. Cloudy brown with a small beige head. Dark caramel and earthy notes. Ok.

750ml bottle shared at Brian’s office. Pours a murky brown with a tan head. Aroma is phenolic and roasted malt. Same taste. Not bad.

Light brown. No head. On the nose, there’s some toastiness, a bit of vaguely phenolic stuff. Sweetish, with some dark fruit notes. Quite yeasty and estery, but this is only just an okay example. It’s a bit thin, and without exceptional character.

Bottle: Poured a dirty brown color Dunkel with a nice light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light sweet wheat malt with caramelized malt notes is enticing. Taste is also a nice mix of caramelized wheat malt notes with some sweet wheat malt with light bready yeast undertones. Body is about average with good carbonation. Well brewed for the style though lacking some of the yeast profile you would expect for the style.
