Tasting at SF’s
Hazy dark amber color. Smoke aroma, some caramel, some wood. Caramel flavor, moderate sweetness, a feeling of oxidization and alcohol, mild fudge.
Pleasant.

Bottle - Toffee, wood and smoke. Cloudy caramel brown with a decent white head. Soft and smokey with lots of woody notes.

750ml bottle at Brian’s office. Hazy amber with a tan head. Aroma is bready, some berries, fruits, and smokey notes. Taste is quite similar, smokey, quite sweet. Quite good.

Amber/brown colour, hazy and a thin head. There’s a lot of smokiness - peaty - with a hint of toffee. On the palate, it comes across thin, with a light smoke, toffee. I’m not sure what to think of this. The aroma promises so much, but the palate ends up a bit thin and weak, failing to deliver that beautiful smoke across the palate effectively.

750mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark dirty amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of the smoky Islay barrels, leather, and some cigarette ash. Flavour is very smoky and ashy, with tons of Islay barrels, some leather and ash. Light sweetness in there, with a very smoky finish. A total smoke bomb. Very nice stuff.

Où, Quand, Comment : Bouteille 750ml.
Visuel : Couleur : brune foncée. Apparence : voilée.
Arôme : Caramel, malt sucré légèrement grillé et fumé (bois et tourbe), petites notes de fruits (petits fruits foncés) faibles notes d’alcool.
Goût : Entrée de bouche : Très léger goût fruité (notes de raisins, traces de figues et de petits fruits foncés) et accompagné d’un léger goût tourbé. Une dominante maltée de caramel légèrement fumé aux notes rôties et terreuses est également présent avec des notes de sucre brun, d’alcool et de houblon herbeux.
En bouche : Corps : moyen. Effervescence : moyenne-douce. Texture : légèrement huileuse et aux notes crémeuses. Finale : moyenne, composé d’un léger goût malté légèrement boisé fumé avec des notes alcoolisées et herbeuses ainsi qu’un très léger résiduel sucré.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color beer with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and not much lacing. Aroma of light smoky notes with some caramelized sugar and light grainy notes is OK. Taste is a mix of caramelized malt with dry smoky notes, very little residual sugar notes and some grainy malt notes. Body si full with low carbonation. Interesting and without being very knowledgeable about the style I would say this example lacks some cohesion and balance.

Quel délice! La complexité est phénoménale et j’ai bien hâte de la goûter à nouveau après 1 an ou 2 en cave... Il y a présence marquée de tourbe et de chêne, accompagnés d’une belle chaleur en bouche. La buvabilité est faible mais je l’ai vraiment appréciée.

Bouteille 750ml. Couleur acajou foncé opaque, mousse moka fuyante laissant un anneau sur les parois du verre. Arôme de malt, fumé, fruits foncés, tourbe. Goût de malt grillé, tourbé, fruits foncés, café subtil, léger sucre, cacao. Carbonatation faible, corps moyen-dense.
