The German people were drawn to Saskatchewan in the 1700s for the vast farm land. With their arrival came beer styles such as the kellerbier, a young lager with a distinctive and delicious flavour.

Cloudy yellow, medium white head. Aroma is full of lemon and pale malts with some grass. Light bitterness, crisp, not bad at all, but lacks some distinct kellerbier character.

Pours a hazy golden-yellow colour with a creamy head, good stay and thick lacing. Smells like a barn with wet hay adding some sweetness with all the other cereal malts. The taste has some sweetness, but lots of cereal malts again. Hints of raisins, maybe more in the aromas. Not bad at all for the style.

330ml bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy straw colour with a medium, frothy, long lasting, white head that leaves curtains of lace. Mild aroma of pale malt, grass and a hint of lemon. Sweet flavour of pale malt, grain and lemon rind with a bitter grass finish. Light body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Meh.

Bottle: Poured a clear yellow color lager with a medium white foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of residual sugar notes with some cereal notes. Taste is a mix of residual sugar notes with some cereal notes with subtle floral undertones. Body is full for style with medium carbonation. Not bad for a style that is not easy to master.

Bottle from the LCBO (Central City Across the Nation Collaboration pack). Hazy pale yellow with a small white head that fades to a sheet. Nose is light honey and grains with some grass and light fruit. Flavour follows with a light sweetness and a medium- grassy bitterness. A touch of spice appears in the finish. Mouth is medium- with soft carbonation. Just OK. 8/3/6-/3/11+

Draught at Red Racer Restaurant, Vancouver
Cloudy blond color. Bready, crisp, delicate malts, a bit too sweet and fruity for the style, and with limited grassy touch.
Drinkable.

Cloudy, smells sour, on the palate its a yeast bomb with harsh bitterness. Has literally nothing to do with the style. Embarrassing if your name is on this.

On tap at Central City on Beatty, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma is very fruity, with lots of herbal and fruity notes, and toasted crackery malt. Flavour is quite fruity, with fruit skins and toasted biscuity malt. Fruity and dry, but nothing special.
