Bottle frommthe lcbo. Pours brown with slight reddish hues, and a small white head. Aroma is quite nutty, brown sugar and cake batter, with hints of cocoa, and a soft fruitiness. Mouth feel is nice, carb is standard. Finish is sweet, more brown sugar and sweet, fruity malts. The currants add a soft fruit flavour and a little tartness mear the end.

Poured from 330mL bottle. Dark purple-y brown with light beige head. Toasted malt with just a hint of black currant. Quite underwhelming.

Pours a clean copper colour with a beige creamy head, very nice retention and good lacing. Fresh chocolate aromas over the roasted malts with hints of coffee and vanilla. Some dark fruits even come out with time. The taste has some sourness it seems, but the milder roasted-chocolate malts helps out with some light bitterness in the finish. Kind of interesting and does not seem to be infected sour notes. Different, but alright.

Bottle: Poured a clear black color ale with a large light brown foamy head with light retention. Aroma of light roasted malt with sweet currant notes is OK. Taste is a mix of light roasted malt with sweet currant notes with more residual sugar then I was expecting. Body is light with good carbonation. Not bad but not memorable either.

330ml bottle. Pours a murky red-brown with a large, frothy, long lasting, beige head that leaves curtains of lace. Mild aroma of wheat malt, roast, coffee, dark chocolate and a hint of black currant. Sweet flavour of chocolate malt, wheat and light roast with black currant in a tart, slightly acidic finish. Light to medium body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Very odd.

Bottle from the LCBO (Central City Across the Nation Collaboration pack). Murky dark reddish brown with a small lingering mocha head. Nose is a muddle of coffee, brown sugar, dark fruit, nuts and roast. Flavour is light malt sweetness, some coffee bitterness and a touch of the berry tartness. Medium mouth with average carbonation. Odd. 7-/3+/5-/3/11

Draught at Red Racer Restaurant, Vancouver
Murky dark red amber color. Smells like stale coffee. Tastes like soured bad beer, no berry. Light liquorice in the finish.
Quite bad.

Purplish and cloudy. Toasty nose with just a hint of black currant. Similar palate, heavy of the toastiness, light on fruit.

On tap at Central City on Beatty, pours a filthy dark red with a small beige head. Aroma brings out dark toasted caramel malt, light fruitiness and biscuity malt. Flavour reveals tart currants and toasted biscuity malt. Tart, weak and watery. This is just bad.
