When we began to think about a series of bolder beers with higher alcohol content we wanted to elucidate it to our consumers. Therefore, we call this series of beer Thurbo. Our neighboring village is called Turbo and we chose to go with the old spelling of that village. We’ve used big amounts of munchener malt that contributes with a malt sweetness and a touch of biscuitness. The residual sweetness takes the edges of the high alcohol content and the bitterness. The hop varieties lend a mixed bag of grape and citrus with slight herbal elements.

33cl bottle from Systembolaget. BBE Jan/15. Pours unclear, amber with a thick white head. Tropical fruity aroma, massive, citrus, herbs and some caramel. Flavor has pine, citrus/grapefruit, with just the right amount of caramel for a DIPA. Long bitter, grapefruity finish, some wood as well. Awesome brew. Tasty.

Bottle. Pours clear orange amber with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of citrus, hops, fruit and malt. Intense, bitter flavour of hops, enhanced by citric and grassy touches and complemented by sweetish, round, notes of fruit and malt. High carbonation and rich body. Bitter aftertaste with subtle, sweety touches. Good.

Bottle, 8.5%. Good fruity aroma, comes from the hops. Cloudy orange colour. Small frothy white head. The flavour is nicely bitter and a little boozy. Caramelly hoppiness, the usual pine and resin. Cleansing bitterness. Lingering, spicy hop bite in the finish.
