Well I liked Nestl Quik when I was a kid, but not so much anymore. It’s not one of my nostalgia things. So a light, vaguely chocolatey beer in the vein of Quik or Carnation Instant Breakfast just isn’t working for me.

On tap. Pours a cloudy brown just like milk chocolate. Very light head. Aromas and flavors of light watery milk chocolate. Dusty. OK novelty.

Murky brown, lasting beige head.Nose and palate of mildly sweet cereal grains. Easy drinking. Not a lot here, but I quite like it.

Draught at Darby’s Gastown, Vancouver
Murky beown color with no head. Smells like cheap chocolate shavings. Tastes like watered chocolate drink from powder, weak, expectedly with no bitterness.
It’s not a beer, and it’s not good chocolate.
What’s the point? Deeply unpleasant.

Draft - Cocoa and chocolate. Opaque brown with a small beige head. Light cocoa and milk chocolate notes. Light cocoa and chocolate but not really anything else, also not as easy drinking as a mild.

On tap at Four Winds, pours a cloudy deep dark amber brown with a large foamy beige head. Aroma brings out lots of milk chocolate upfront, with the lactose and cocoa coming out big time. Flavour is along the same lines, with tons of melted chocolate and lactose. Not a ton of depth, but it is a mild, so that is forgiven. Pleasant and well-constructed. Solid.
