Modeled after an English style summer bitter. Crisp, dry and refreshing, with a light biscuity malty character. A delicate, herbal hop aroma, backed with an approachable bitterness.

Nice deep and clear gold body and a bit of white foam on top. Very faint sweet grain aroma. Flavour is bright and sweet hoppy grains with a generally dry finish. Serviceable golden ale though not too memorable.

Pretty solid for a golden ale. Lpts of hops anyway. Pours golden with good head and lacing. Bitter end. Tap at The Snug.

355 ml can. Pours a dark amber with moderate head. Aromas of wet malts, grain, and grass. Flavours of bread crusts, herbal hops, and lots of dry toasted malts. Dry grassy finish. A big full bitter. Nice but not one of Persephone’s best.

Can - Light grains and biscuit. Clear gold with a frothy white head. Pale malts and some biscuit with a slight grainy bitterness. Decent.

On tap at Bitter Tasting Room. Very strange aroma with notes of stewed meat and fruits on the back. Fruity and crispy in the taste (as good lagers). Not bad, but quite strange.

On tap at Portside, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Nose brings out a very dry crackery malt and floral hop character. Flavour brings out loads of that dry crackery quality, with a nice dry holiness leaving no residual sweetness. Exceedingly high drinkability. Very well-brewed light golden ale.

2014-04-22, draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver, 5-4-6-2-11=28
Golden color, hazy, with generous creamy head. The aroma is too light; cereals, husks, bread. Dry mouthfeel; the malts have a very strong bready character, some cereals, simple profile; the hops have a strong chicory character, with a disturbing level of bitterness.
Not exciting.

2014-04-15, draught at The Portside, Vancouver, 5-4-6-3-12=30
Deep blond color, clear, with small compact head. Very light aroma, anonymous, some papery malts. Dry mouthfeel, lean; the malts in the flavor are dry, with some British character; correct bitterness, with a citrusy hint.
Clean but rather boring.

Golden, big thick head, aroma has golding earthiness. Lots of rich bitterness for the style, earthy English bitter type.
