Chocolate - Coffee - Smooth //
This ale is a dark, yet surprisingly light-bodied cream ale. Crystal, Whitbread Goldings, and Cascade hops are added to a carefully crafted blend of 2-Row, C-120, Roasted and Chocolate barley malts creating a truly drinkable beer with subtle nutty flavours and hints of chocolate. Raven Cream Ale is a two-time World Beer Cup medalist (silver and bronze), mellow enough for the casual beer drinker yet complex enough for the most discerning foodie.

Pours brown with a light head. Weak flavours of toffee, coffee and caramel. Fairly standard.

Brown color. Light aroma, not interesting, almost cardboard. Caramel flavor, no Cream here... Boring.
2008-07-16, draught at Steamworks (?), 5-3-5-2-10=25
Nice light brown color. Light aroma of Asian kitchen (?). It has just a plain favor, caramel and roasted malt, dry mouthfeel, dirty water? No interest.

Pours without too much in the realm of the head. It has a really dark opper colour going for it. Smells totally sweet, like caramel. The flavour is for me really hard to describe, mostly because it is unlike most beers that I have ever had. I mean it is like sweet and all and pretty full. I think that it is good stuff overall... would drink it again I suppose.

Bottle: Poured a dark brown color ale with a huge bubbly slightly off-white head with average retention. Aroma of sweet caramel malt is dominating. Taste is also quite sweet with a nice caramel presence and very subtle hops. Body is not full and this beer makes a nice session beer with more complexity then your average British ale.

Not necessarily that bad, but the flavours and body are all over the place, malty sour nose with hints of toffee and coffee while the body is woody with hints of figs, leaves and bubblegum in the back ground. I had a hard time figuring this one out.

Bright chestnut colour. Nutty aroma with chocolate malt undertones. Toasty, light body with some honey and hints of chocolate. Sits on the border between a mild and a brown ale.
