Deep greige, fast gone head over brown-red rimmed black beer. Bourbon, roasted/burnt coffee, chocolate, vanilla, cigarette ashes. Sweet - very sweet - but with a burnt toffee lining. Dark brown sugar, molasses, syrup. Sticky, oozy feel; full bodied, rich and cloying. Too bl**dy sweet, however bad the craze may be!

Dark brown/black beer. Almost no carbonation. Vinous beer and a bit spicy. Very sweet and fruity. Aroma of dark fruits and sweet chocolate. Low bitterness and a bit sour.

20/VI/13 - 75cl bottle @ De Hopduvel - 2013 vintage - bottle # 863 (2013-569)Thanks to Bobochamp for sharing the bottle!
Clear purple brown beer, no head. Aroma: alcohol, sugary, caramel, vanilla, lots of vanilla, bourbon, bit woody, hints of mocha and chocolate on warming up. Taste: lots of caramel, vanilla, sweet but not too much, sour touch keeping it balanced and drinkable. Aftertaste: caramel, slight hop bitterness, mocha and gentle roasted flavours, bit of vanilla, sweet ending, alcohol is noticeable but not too much.

rating no 10 on this very special beer! thnx bobochamp ! pours black/brown , no foam. leaves a layer on the glass. the moscatel sweetness is even overpowering the swxeetness of dark lord ! respect ! soft carbo, moscatel-sweetness, followed by dl-sweetness. not all sugary, though. finaly ! fairly complex, raisins come to mind. decent. anything sweeter than this would be so sticky , you’d think its glue... complete, extreme, sweetness overkill, but very intresting ! thnx dude !

Bottle shared at Beer Temple with Benzai and others. Pours almost black with a small biege head. Aroma of molasses, toffee, fudge, chocolate, vinous notes, light roast, grapes from the muscatel barrel coming out and adding to the base DL. Flavour is heavy sweet, cloying like the base. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
