Tap @ BBF 2011. Almost black. Lovely aroma of pipe tobacco and peat. Thick and syrupy. Viscous. Sweet flavor, very malty indeed with pipe tobacco, peat and dark chocolate sauce.

From old notes. From tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Black color with beige head. Aroma is malty, roasted, chocolate, alcoholic, some smoked notes. Sweet and biter like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation. Alcohol seemed like 15% not 39%!!

Totally pitch black. Insanely boozy....tobacco. Well, this is a ’mess’ insane! Like a campfire, smoked chocolate, marshamallows, a lot of rye and bourbon whiskey. some tree-nuts, maybe walnut/almonds. very interestin but also very extreme. Double Black is ’balanced’ compared to this :)

Messy in the making, about 30%, straight from the barrel @ Schooltje. Black color. Dark head (not much). Aroma’s: whisky-ish, alcohol, sweet, wood, licorice/drop, something herbal? Flavor is like licorice, droppig, moderate sweet, somewhat salty. Very strong alcohol feel. Dense mouthfeel, syruppy. Not there yet, but anyway a bit over the top for me.

Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige to brown head, unstable, non adhesive. aroma: very peated, smoky, caramel, dried fruits. MF: soft carbon, full body, very thick, syrupy texture, almost chewable. Taste: caramel, very sugary, heavily peated, hoppy, some dark chocolate, pretty dry. Aftertaste: peated, caramel, sweet, bit of alcohol, more peat, pretty bitter and hoppy finish.

Biggest want now finally happening. Pours jet black with a small, dark head. Smell is intense peat, yet still in the ok zone to me. Taste is peat, byt also dark malts and bitterness. Very balanced. Drinks like a 10 percenter, wtf? Acxording to Urbain, because of the temperature. To me this is juat proof yet again of great brewing skills. What a mouthfeel! Perfect carbo, intense and long lasting aftertaste. Even though it is to peated for my taste, i can only commit that i secretly do like it. If obly it were for the experience and the mouthfeel of it. Thnx Urbain!
