Cask at the hanging bat. Pours black, light roasty chocolate, rich, slight liquorice. Tanned way too many of these on my birthday 2 years ago.

Good Russian imperial stout, but somehow I expected more from it. Good beer, but not brilliant.

750 ml bottle purchased at Oliver’s Beverage Center, Albany. Label reads best before 4/28/2013. Pitch black color with thin tan head. Nose is roasted malts, licorice and ash. Flavor is big English malts with deep roast, burnt day old coffee and a touch what tastes like smoked malt. Even with it a touch past it’s prime, still real decent.

Bottle 750 c&c shared by Marcus. Pours dark brown/black with a slight transient dark tan head. Aroma is smoky, mildly fruity with mildly oaky, smooth burnt malt. Med body. Flavor is mild fruit, wood, smoke, dark malt. A very laid back IS. Quite nice. Subtle is the word.
