“Dank” is a popular but hard-to-define adjective used to describe hops but we’ve done our best to define it in pFriem Dank IPA. This light copper ale shines with flavors of tropical fruit, hints of blueberry and a fresh hoppy finish. You might not be able to describe the dankness to your friends but you’ll understand it after one sip.

500 ml. Aroma is kind of muted, but it's bready, light citrus peel, dank, onion, pot. Pours lightly hazy golden with a bone-white head with good retention and lace. Taste has a nice moderate candy sweetness with some moderate bitterness. It really is dank, they weren't lying. Pretty tasty.

500 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/24/2019. Pours fairly crystal clear medium golden yellow color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, white grape, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light honey/nutty, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, white grape, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light honey/nutty, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, white grape, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no minimal hop astringency after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.8%. Overall this is an awesome IPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink despite the moderately bitter/resinous/drying finish; not overly aggressive. Awesome Chinook, Mosaic, Citra, Warrior, Nelson Sauvin, Columbus profile. Extremely vibrant, dank, earthy, and fairly juicy hops; with a great clean bready malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and outstanding style example. They nailed what they were going for on the dank qualities.

Bottle. Thought I'd rated this. Anyway, pours a bright clear orange hue with a medium white head. A big sweet hoppy nose. Sweet, fresh hops, deep dank hops, very smooth. A wonderful great IPA.

Slightly dank, slightly tropical, maybe not fresh enough but not bad

Taster at brewery. Medium bright golden, small ring of head. Mild hoppy aroma. Very slick and oily mouthfeel. Good malt base. Not as dank as you would expect.

Draught @ Alibi. Amber, medium head. Fruity hop nose, slight caramel and yes a bit weedy. Has a slightly caramelly malt note, chewy, piney and a bit of grapefruit.
