An ultra-experimental mish mash of styles. This is an oak aged Imperial Weizenbock.
A big, bold mouthfeel backed by some powerful banana and classic weizen notes, balanced by an ecclectic yet bizarrely balanced variety of hops from America (Simcoe) the Czech (Saaz) and the UK (Brambling Cross).
The beer is at 10.2% ABV and has been aged on toasted French oak chips. As close to bannoffie pie as a beer can taste. Seriously.
This beer was the brainchild of our German Lead Brewer Franz.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of over ripe fruits, spicy hops, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, over ripe fruits, metal, and caramel, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

37,5 cl bottle @ lusikka. Bottle #9441/9992: bottled on 10.06.2013
’ Aroma has ripe fruits, raisins, some cardboard and caramel. Flavour has cardboard, caramel, toffee, raisins and wet paper and licorice. A Belgian strong ale with overwhelming sugary sweetness. A ’weizen bock’, wtf?

Bottled 10/06/13, bottle #9441/9992 - Pours dark reddish orange with a tiny head. Aroma of banana, sweet syrup, vanilla, toffee and oak. Taste is sweet, sticky, yeasty and wheaty with notes of banana, toffee, oak and ripe fruits. Finish is yeasty, stuffy and sweetish with loads of syrup and oak. Way too sweet for my taste.

On tap at Erzbierschof. Orange-amber color with small head. Strong banana syrup aroma, caramel, vanilla, sweet. Heavy malt body, bananas, toffee, vanilla in the taste. Smooth mothfeel, sweet finish, low carbonation. I’ve been waiting for a long time to try this and I’m glad I still have a bottle of this in my cellar.

Bottle - Boozy sweet barrel notes, light plum and some light berry. Clear copper with a thin beige. Nice sweet caramel notes with a bit of oak and heat. More like a dry Barleywine than anything else. Like it.

375mL bottle, pours a cloudy dark orangey amber brown with a tiny beige head. Nose smells like banana, toffee, alcohol and candied sugar. Flavour is like a liquid bannoffee pie, with banana, toffee, candied sweetness and alcohol. Surprisingly tasteful, with a good balance. But difficult to drink due to the heat and abrasiveness. Cool gimmick beer but hard to drink.

Nydelig duft av frukter med et lite snev av alkohol. Dunkel lys rødbrun farge. Lite, nesten ingen skum. Frisk smak av frukter og noe karbomering. frisk og lettdrukket.

Keg @ Brewdog Birmingham. Every bit as lovely and delicious as I imagined. Gooey warm banana massaging a sweet weizenbock base with vanilla, spices and a soothing booziness coaxing you back for more. One of the best so far.
