A brew to finish a day in the fields! This sparkling wine / beer hybrid perfectly balances the familiar spicy characteristics of the saison yeast and apple tartness with rich honey notes.

Can shared by Kazator. Thanks! Alcohol hidden well, but otherwise I do not like this very much. The apples here brutally resemble classic overripe apple off-flavour, often encountered in Belgian style trippelish beers. I am not sure what to do here. However I am glad that I did not drink this alone.

Can from Cornelius. Clear golden body with a thick white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of cardboard, white pepper and apple pie. Flavour of flat cider, grass and faint spices. Thin to medium body with a flat lemonade mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Lacking vibrancy. Disappointing.

(Thanks tiong for sharing!). Clear yellow color, small off-white head. Overriped sweet apple aroma. Medium-bodied. Sweetish, dry apple fruity (overriped fruits) drink with some malts. Almost like drinking some cider.

Pours orange with a small head. Aroma of tartish apples, yeast, earthy notes, hints of fruits, spices and caramely notes. Taste is sweetish, yeasty and ripe fruity with some apples, hints of spices and earthy notes. Finish is sweet, ripe fruity and yeasty with some apples. A bit too sweet and ripe fruity.

Golden beer with a thin head and a savoury, apple-y scent. If it weren’t for the hoppy kick it’d be really quite cidery. I wouldn’t want a lot of it, especially, at the strength, but it’s interesting. Strong, apple taste. Doughy, yeasty flavour. A little hop in there too. Nicely balanced.

330 ml can bb 21/12/16, from BeerLovers, Vienna.
Golden, moderate hazy body, with a medium, fluffy, a bit fizzy, yellowish head.
Aroma of barnyard, cheese, apples, bread, some sweet ripe fruits.
Taste is dry, bitter, medium sour, with apples, lemongrass, lemon zest, yeast, bread, white wine, sweet malts, booze.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes very dry, bitter, a bit sour, vinous, zesty, yeasty, fruity, a bit bready, alcohol warming.
Pretty heavy, unique stuff, not a common Saison at all. The flavour is quite different to the nose, a bit overwhelming at first, with a strong dryness and bitterness and a quite heavy alcohol presence for this style. Overall a really interesting beer, while I’m missing some more drinkability or balance.
