Inspired by insomnia, the Kompaan 39 Bloedbroeder is a blackened imperial stout with an extra bloodtype: ruby port. Blood brothers: the strongest bonds that exist! This beer is brewed with a variety of malts (black and roasted) with little sweet notes, a bitter aftertaste, and at 9.1%, it has a light hoppiness. A beer to sit down with!

Bottle by MisoW, thanks! Aroma rather less intense, dark malts and general fruitiness. The taste can be described thus also. Rather simple and less intense, but good nevertheless. Dark, roasty, relatively thin bodied, very light alcohol in the finish. 7 5 7 4 14. Rerate: adjusting numbers.

(Bottle, De Paas, Den Haag, 21 Aug 2014) Black colour with rocky, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, chocolate, dark bread and a touch of liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, coffee, dark bread and a generous coffee bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a touch of sweetness. Fresh, tasty and exceptionally well balanced. Very nice.

Bittersweet flavor with dark chocolate, dark fruits, wood, roast, a vinous touch and a bitterish finish. Medium to full-bodied.

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE info missing
Aroma is ashy with urinal and bretta(!) notes. Flavour is somewhat tart with leathery bretta tones, some roastiness, ash and licorice. Port is well hidden behind the tartness. I wonder if it is intended?
