Inspired by insomnia, the Kompaan 39 Bloedbroeder is a blackened imperial stout with an extra bloodtype: ruby port. Blood brothers: the strongest bonds that exist! This beer is brewed with a variety of malts (black and roasted) with little sweet notes, a bitter aftertaste, and at 9.1%, it has a light hoppiness. A beer to sit down with!

Bottle, 9%. Sweet and roasted aroma, some paper. Black colour. Big stable rocky light brown head. The flavour is quite roasted with a good dose of raw liquorice. Fruity and jammy finish, hint of cream.

Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy but stable tan head. Clear aroma of malt, coffee, caramel and fruit. Dark flavour of coffee, liquorice and caramel malt, with fruity and estery notes. Bitter finish, lasting for quite a while. Warming alcohol presence. A nice one.

(bottle, 33cl) Black coloured hue with a big and brown foamy head. Earthy, leathery and moderately roasted malty aroma with notes of dark chocolate, smoke malt and a whiff of dried fruits. Roasty bitter and delicately sweet flavour, quite full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Roasty malty and slightly earthy base with notes of dark chocolate, mocha and liquorice, accompanied by shades of dried fruits and smoke; moderately roasty malty finish with notes of chocolate, liquorice and a tinge of booze lingering into the aftertaste. 04.VII.14
