Bottle from the brewery. Slightly hazy, dark amber. Off white, lasting head. Aroma of dried fig. Orange. Cinammon. Some grassiness. Taste is dried fruit sweetness, that gets boshed out of the way by a big, vinous fruit ridiculousness. Surprisingly restrained palate. Dry, fruity finish.

330ml bottle. Cloudy brown colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Earthy, grainy aroma with a sourish twinge. Taste is earthy, grainy, dark bready, minimally fruity, slightly sourish; some warming alcohol in the finish. Now having rated some of them, I regretfully have to admit that those Belgian styles from Partizan (disregarding the Saisons) don’t reach even roughly the elsewise general high quality of the APAs and and IPAs, neither in relation to the style nor in relation to the brewery’s portfolio. Well, I don’t want to recommend to cancel those Belgian "experiments" totally, I’ll rather be optimistic to expect improved future specimen.

On the train from Hereford to Inverness, bottle from the brewery thanks to Leighton for muelling, 18/10/13. Dark mahogony brown with a good sized beige head that stays for the show. Nose is dark toffee, spice, light soap, dark fruits, lightly burnt sugar. Taste comprises dark fruits, dates, raisens, dark toffee vein, spice, boozey notes. Full bodied, moderate carbonation, dry spicey bite in the finale. Ok quad, work to do on this one - it’s a little primitive when held up to the best but drinkable enough.
