Darker doesn’t always mean stronger! A stout’s roasty signature quality comes from barley that is roasted and unmalted. This beer pours a dark black with the aroma of dark chocolate and dried fruit. The sweetness is balanced by the roasted malt, with a rich and creamy mouthfeel.

Medium brown. Thin head. Light, nutty aroma. Just a touch of roast. Light body. Really mellow. Some milk chocolate character. Soft roast, toast. OK,

473mL can, pours black with a large tan head. Aroma brings out lots of oats, medium roast, and a touch of cocoa. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of lactose, oats and medium roast. Lots of powdery cocoa, oats and roast on the body. Good stuff.

Can thanks to AJ. Pours a very dark brown leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is roast, licorice, cocoa. Slick, roast, dark chocolate, nice sweetness, very good.

355ml can. Pours an opaque black with a medium, long lasting, foamy, light brown head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, chocolate, and a hint of licorice with a mildly bitter coffee finish. Medium body with a creamy, smooth texture and soft carbonation. Pretty impressive offering from this new brewery.

Can: Poured a clear black color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of coffee notes with some dry roasted malt notes is pretty pleasant. Taste is a good mix between some dry roasted malt with some coffee notes and lightly sweet notes are also noticeable. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable example of the style.
