Black with a tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate, earthy, some grain. Bitter and dry finish. Medium but slightly watery body. A straightforward, easy drinking yet flavorful stout. Good stuff.

Draft - Nice sweet dark roast with a touch of dark chocolate. Deep jet black with a nice brown head. Dark roast and perfumy with some nice hop notes. Very nice and complex flavors. Like it a lot.

5oz draft at Hale’s. Black with brown head. This not imperial stout is bigger tasting than the English style impy stout I just had. Aggressive dark malts, some malt bitterness, not sugary but malt sweetness, Fumy, lightly cocoa breaking through the bitter malts in the nose. A big regular beer.

Draft @ Concordia Ale House. Darkish brown, thick head. Aroma is rich chocolatey and a touch of molasses and earthy hopping. Rich hoppy chocolatey, touch of woody hop and alcohol in the finish.

On tap at Imazato. Sound Americanus 6.5% dark black with a thin beige head. Roasty chocolate & coffee bean aroma. Medium to thin bodied with a fairly smooth mouthfeel. The taste is roasty bitter black patent malts with chocolate a tad acrid dark maltiness but not too over the top.

On Tap at the Poulsbo tasting room Dark brown black with a quick tan head. Very nice balanced dark roast and a little sweetness for balance. One of the best middle of the road stouts I can remember,

Pitch black color. med brown head. Licorice , tobacco, charcoal, dark chocolate, moderately dry. Moderately hoppy. Lingering charcoal and dark chocolate bitter finish. Good depth, but balance could have been a bit better. Still a great beer overall.

Sampled on tap at The Taphouse, pours black with a small ring of beige head. Aroma is very roasty, with chocolate and coffee dominating the nose. Flavour is equally roasty, with bittersweet dark chocolate, roasted espresso beans and dry oatmeal. Smooth, velvety texture with a dry, bitter finish. Very enjoyable.
