Our I.P.A. is a dark-blonde beer with an emphatic, hoppy flavour. I.P.A. stands for India Pale Ale, a British type of brew in which the alcohol percentage and hop recipe were boosted so that the beer would survive the long sea voyage to the colonies. This recipe turned out to be a real winner and quickly became popular.
In our I.P.A., we add hops to the beer during the maturing process as well as the brewing to produce delicious aromas of grapefruit and flowers. A beer with a fruity, bitter aftertaste that lingers for a long time.

Bottle from an Albert Heijn - thanks, Anke! Pours clear golden with a lasting, unstable, frothy, white head. Aroma of dried apple peel, pine resin, stale lime juice, yellow grapefruit, breadcrust, yeast, hand soap, unripe pear. Taste is light fruity sweet, quite restrained and 'classic', as in apple peel & pear with yeasty & bready accents; medium hoppy bitter middle offers pine, grapefruit, faint onion, a grass bite & vague sourish lime. Dryish, earthy, almost resinous hoppy finish, lingering unripe fruit, yeast, gapefruit peel, tonic-like effect. Medium body, slick-oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Correct IPA, but in that sense also a bit run-of-the-mill.

From the bottle. Dark orange with a tall, frothy white crown. Aroma of citrus and pineapple with mild caramel undertones. Taste is bitter with a light tartness. Finishes sharp and bitter, a bit warming, with hints of citrus and apple pie. Body is medium. Carbonation is moderate. Pretty good.

33 cl bottle at La Panadería, Alcalá de Henares. Pours slightly cloudy bright golden with a snow-white rocky head. Aroma is orange, spruce, fir, coffee and, yes, a rather surprising but not unpleasant at all, cucumber. Oh yeah, dear buddies: cucumber, what do you know? Taste is fizzy, fresh but not tart, full-bodied and bitterish but not bitter. Long persistence when it comes to the aftertaste thingy. Quite good, I must say.

Bottle from drinkshop.sk Okay, aroma is rather uninteresting but tastes much better than nose is. Place of origin is quite obvious, yup you cannot hide Belgian yeast, that hungry little bastards. Just enough bitter, very fresh. Grapefruit and some other citruses all over the place. Nice.
