On tap at Irish Caskival at YBC. Pours a very dark brown, almost black with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, slightly smoky. Taste is slightly sour, roasted malt, dark fruits. Roasted malt aftertaste. Not bad, drinkable.

2015-03-17, cask at the brewery, for St. Patrick’s day, also called Oxymoron, 6-4-6-2-12=30
Black color, creamy brownish head. Mild aroma of Sunday morning coffee. Dry mouthfeel, too roasty, metallic, with a touch of liquorice; not bad but there is not much going on here.
2014-05-30, cask at the brewery, 6-3-6-3-12=30
Black color with frothy head. It has the correct aroma and flavor of roasted malt, dry and lean mouthfeel, a bit dusty in the end, with correct bitterness.
I don’t get excited by this style, but it’s correctly brewed.

On tap at Main Street, pours black with a small beige head. Nose brings out roasted malt and dry cocoa powder. Flavour is dry, with toasted and roasted malt, and bitter cocoa. Good body, with a cocoa-y finish.

Dark brown, toffee and chocolate character. Sweet front, dry and acidic finish, toast, hops, great character. Best one on opening night.
