This is an aggressive beer. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to safer and more familiar territory—maybe something with a multimillion-dollar ad campaign aimed at convincing you it’s made at an independent brewery, or one that implies that their tasteless seltzer / fizzy yellow beer / whatever-the-hell will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think multimillion-dollar ad campaigns make all that junk taste better. Perhaps you’re mouthing your words as you read this.

We believe that pandering to the lowest common denominator represents the height of tyranny—a virtual form of keeping the consumer barefoot, stupid & led by the nose social media. Brought forth upon an unsuspecting public in 1997, Arrogant Bastard Ale openly challenged the tyrannical overlords who were brazenly attempting to keep the people chained in the shackles of poor taste. One glance around and it’s glaringly obvious: they’re winning...as of now. Yet we will not stop. Ever. Since the very beginning, Arrogant Bastard Ale has reveled in its unprecedented and uncompromising celebration of intensity. There have been many nods to Arrogant Bastard Ale…even outright attempts to copy it…but only one can ever embody the true nature of Liquid Arrogance! Hated By Many. Loved By Few.

Can from Berlin. Pours orange copper color with a transient beige head and a hoppy, fruity aroma.

0.5l can. Hazy ruby body with a huge, thick and lasting dark beige head. Looks great for sure. The aroma is mostly about dried fruits like dates and raisins with just a bit of citruses and pine and some nutmeg to give it a spicy twist. The taste on the other hand is all about hops. Loads of pine and some grapeseed in the taste without the dried fruits present in the aroma. Only a bit of toast here to represent the malts. Could be way better with a bit of caramel or dried fruits in the taste, but I still find this nice. Its price is also very nice (it was brewed in Berlin and I bought it in Budapest).

Vom Fass (Brewed at Berlin/D) Stone Brewing Berlin 2016-06 getrunken. Stone riet mir also, in gewohnten Gefilden zu bleiben... - Gute Idee der Werbabteilung von Stone also lasse ich diese dunkle Hopfen-Bitterbombe hinter mir und freue mich über ein schönes anderes Bier...

24-09-17 // 500ml can at Stone Brewing Tap-Takeover at Naiv in Frankfurt. Shared with Greg Koch himself!! Hazy Brown beer, solid head. Sweetisch nose. Taste of roasted malts, heavy sweetness, with an aggressive bitterness with Grapefruit touches.

Bottle at home. Pours red brown amber with a frothy beige head. Aroma is heavy roasted malt, sweet malts, caramel, grapefruit, moderately hoppy. Taste is heavy sweet malts, then big bitterness, juicy hops, light grapefruit. Medium to full body, soft carbpnation. Long dry, bitter finish. It's a beer that's big on flavour, but it's not for me.

From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours a beautiful red with nice reflections. Aroma is toasted, caramel. Body is average, with limited carbonation. Taste is toasted at first, then quite some bitterness kicks in, an old school one. Finish seems not that long initially, but bitterness comes up when you least expect it and lasts very long.

50cl can brewed in Berlin. Smooth malty and moderate sweetish beginning. Fruity bitterness with herbal hints. Intense bittered, but round and refreshing in total. Long fruity malty bitter aftertaste, caramel, toffee, intense bittered. Great!

Murky dark amber, huge off-white head, good persistence and lacing. Aroma shows caramel malts, slight dark bread and resinous hoppiness. It's fairly intense and fresh but quite monotonous. Taste has medium sweetness, medium to high bitterness and persistent resinous bitterness in the aftertaste. Notes are of caramel, resinous/piney hops, slightest earthiness and spiciness. Medium body with average carbonation, drinks quite easily. Decently enjoyable and very much unimpressive. The only thing arrogant about this is pretentious labeling.
