The Beast is a seducer - accomodating, complicated, powerful, dark and created to last the ages. Beyond this, it’s futile to attempt to describe Him. He will unveil Himself differently to each of His followers. The mark is in His constitution. Brewed with two-row malted barley, honey malt, and imported Belgian specialty grains (aromatic, pale wheat, roasted wheat, and Special B), hops (Magnum, Galena, Saaz, Hallertau, Tettnang, and Hersbrucker), brewing sugars (raisins, dates, blackstrap molasses, alfalfa honey, turbinado, and dark Belgian candy sugar), water, Belgian yeast and another hellion of a yeast strain.OG: 1.138

Vanilla aroma accents. Big alcohol and lots of caramel, with some molasses. Big chewy body...but way too boozy. Fairly strong vanilla throughout. Dry, alcholic finish is about right - it’s a rough beer.

Batch 5 (2007). Wow, and now for something completely different. . . Aroma is complex. Caramel, resin, raisin, apple, banana, honey, dates and figs, as well as alcohol. Pours with a small off-white/to almost yellow head. Excellent Lacing. Body is clear and an amber red/brown. Really shocking taste. An explosion of flavor accompanied by an explosion of alcohol, it may be a bit too sweet. Starts off quite sweet and goes a bit acetic. Body is creamy smooth offset by lively carbonation and a strongly alcoholic and mildly astringent (not really in a bad way) finish. If you like your hard liquors then the palate is awsomem but very much unlike any other beer that I have found so far.

2005 bottle. Big beer that I thought would be difficult to get through, but this was surprisingly drinkable. Reddish-brown body with a tan head. Nice malty aroma of candy and caramel with notes of apricot and honey. Some sweet fruits, plum and cherry, are evident. The flavor is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, slightly bitter. Tart finish. Boozy flavor from the alcohol. Medium body and syrupy texture.

Dark amber with tiny off white head. Aroma has stroong alcohol notes, hops and toffee. Sweet flavor with the high alcohol level to present. There is raisins, plums and it finishes off bitter. A good candidate for the cellar...

Batch 3. Aged 2 years. Pours deep amber into a Trappist glass. Trace of a head hugs rim. Pit fruit and alcohol aromas. Thick molasses and raisin with a lasting candi finish. Sweet and alcoholic -- but complex and satifsyingly portlike.

Bottle Batch 3: Poured a reddish brown, thin off white head. Aroma is sweet with sugar, fruit, and malts. Taste is strong molasses malt with off setting hops. The finish is sweet and alcoholy.

Bottle. Creamy off-white excellent fully lasting head. Orange-brown colour. Heavy malty and hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Syruply/creamy way too alcoholic palate.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is ruby amber. Aroma is rich with fruits and slcohol. Taste is extremely powerful with lots of fruits, molasses and alcohol.

12 fl oz bottle, batch 3 - 2005. Pours amber with almost no head. Thick raisin aroma, dried fruit and quite strong. Malty, fruity and a whiff of liqourice. Sweet, very sweet indeed. Surpricingly wellbalanced. Although the alcohol is present and gives some warmth, it really doesn’t take over and leaves the feeling of a great brew.

Bottled, 2006 version, 14.6%. Clear redbrown color, medium off-white head. Aroma of candy sugar, sugar cane, molasses, sweet, alcoholic, american strong ale like. Very very sweet taste, it has that american strong ale like taste, but way too sweet I would say. It surely has potential as a good barley wine, but for now it is too sweet.
