Randonneur Saison was created in the tradition of farmhouse ales brewed for farm labourers during harvest season in northern France and Wallonia. Peppery and hoppy, effervescent and bone-dry, Randonneur Saison refreshes after cycling through the countryside or harvesting produce in your own garden.
Randonneur is fermented with a French Saison yeast and bottle conditioned for natural carbonation, and an extra layer of complexity.

On tap at Dageraad. Pours hazy blonde with a white head. Spicy saison yeast, some white pepper, gentle esters on the nose; very nice farmhouse aroma. Flavour has rustic saison yeast, smooth esters, and some floral accents. Full-bodied. Very nicely done.

Taster at the brewery. Pours a sloghtlu hazy blonde with a white head. Aroma is flowery. Taste is flowery and slightly earthy. Kind of classic saison, but I would prefer less bitterness.

Has a heavy unnatural carbonation and huge head, much too large and feisty, but has a weird foaminess to it. Hoppy cheap lager-like aroma, I can already tell that this ain’t no old -world style saison. Flavour has very slight weak funk, yeast notes, but comes off with little else to keep one interested. This just seems to be a total miss, and not a "saison" I’d look for again.

Re-rate: Poured from the tap. Slightly hazy blonde with small white head. Belgian yeast and spice, slightly floral, nice balance. Enjoyable. Raising my rating. Dec 21, 2014 (7/3/7/3/14=3.4): Poured from 650mL bottle. Slightly hazy pale yellow with white head. Belgian yeast and slight sour aroma. Mild pepper and lemon.

650 ml bottle. Pours a hazy amber with full head. Aromas of Belgian (French?) yeast, pears, white pepper, and light toasted malts. Flavors are similar with emphasis on yeast and sharp fruits backed up by a dry bitter spiciness. Nice rendition.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, farmhouse notes, and light floral notes - quite authentic. Flavour is certainly true to style, with farmhouse notes, Belgian yeast, floral hops, and light citrus. Very dry, farmhouse-y, and flavourful overall. Great stuff.
