A Classic since 1987
Balance is what makes our Boont Amber Ale so unique: rich, crystal malts give this beer a deep copper hue and contribute a slight caramel sweetness while the herbal, spicy bitterness from carefully selected whole-cone hops impart a crisp, clean finish. Hints of sun toasted grain, toffee, and fruity esters compliment the mellow, noble hop aroma.

Hazy dark amber beer. Light palate, a little soft. Good malt, a little rich and creamy. Followed by mild hop with a splash of minerals. Caramel malt in the finish. Respectable!

12 oz. bottle. Pours dark orange with a thin, beige head. The aroma is butterscotch, white bread, and flowers. The flavor is sweet up front, with bitterness through the middle and lingering through a long aftertaste. The palate is medium, hard, crisp, astringent and sticky. Overall, this is a good, solid beer.

Draught at the Lord Hobo, Cambridge, MA. Reddish amber with a thin cream head that laces the glass nicely; floral aroma; soft and malty flavour with some spicy orange fruit; and a crisply hopped finish that’s gentle and very moreish. Pleasant, but not outstanding.

Flaske 0,355l på Bishops Arms, Kiruna 28 Mar 12. Mørk aprikosfarget. Litt uklar. OK, litt farget skum. Fruktig aroma med en aning metall. Smaken er søt fruktig. Plommer. Svakt søtlig ettersmak.

Draught @ Ölrepubliken. Pours clear amber with a big creamy yellowish white head that slowly dissipates while leaving som thick lacing on the glass. Smell is sweet and malty with bread, rose pepper, mandarin oranges, lemon zest, toffee and hints of vanilla. Taste is sweet and malty with caramel, rose pepper, hay and orange zest. Mouthfeel is smooth and light to medium bodied. Finish is slightly sweet and slightly bitter with bread, caramel and orange zest.

355ml bottle shared with Finn at Bishops Arms, Kiruna. Unclear, dark apricot body. Decent off-white head, spotty lacing. Smell of dried fruits and caramel malts. Plums, apricot, a bite of oranges and sweet malts in flavour, offset by a rounded bitter tail. Medium bodied. A tad too sweet but a half bottle was quite alright, 28.04.2012.

Can @ home. Back prior to my ratebeer days, I enjoyed this beer a fair amount. Let’s see if my snobbery has taken over... Pours a darkish, fairly clear orange appearance with a lasting brown head. Pretty pronounced hop presence in the nose with a fair amount of spiciness, flowers, and a bit of earth. There’s also a rich, toasty, caramel malty element to the aroma. There’s a bit of fruitiness in the flavor to go along with a pronounced toasty, caramel malts and spicy floral hops. Pretty easy drinking brew. Probably wouldn’t be all that bad on a camping trip.

Dark, hazy amber colour. Sweet, fruity aroma. Initial flavour is sweet candy but it becomes more floral and hoppy in the finish. Quite smooth, low carbonation.
