Hazy orange, small off white head. Aroma of sweet wheat, yeast, herbal, floral hops, and some bread. Thick mouth feel, soft carb. The finish is sweet, a little woody, with tropical fruit notes, and some flowery hops. Very interesting.

Batch 3074 packaged 2014/02/13. Pours a clean golden-amber colour with a small creamy-foam white head, disappearing quickly enough, but leaving creamy lace. Winy aromas with some sweet grapes, yeast and nutty notes. The taste has the same grapes-raisins combination, so sweet enough, but the malt finishes with a smokiness to it. Nice and bready overall with the fruits coming from the Chardonnay barrels and hints of sourness. Full bodied and smooth, with the alcohol well-hidden. A good wheat wine with the added touch of the wine barrel.

Bottle - Peach, pineapple and some oak. Cloudy orange gold with a small white head. Sweet tropical fruit, liquor and a long finish. Sweet and rich, not really sure where this fits.

Bottle: Poured a clear medium golden color ale with a relatively small foamy head with minimal retention and not much lacing. Aroma of sweet wheat malt notes with some residual sugars notes also perceptible. Taste is also dominated by caramelized wheat malt notes with a little bit of residual sugar notes and light boozy notes. I can’t say that the white wine barrel were detectable. Body was full for style with good carbonation and a little bit boozy. Overpriced for sure with barrel-aging notes hardly detectable; I will probably skip out next time I see this on the shelves.

600ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a slighgtly hazy pale amber with a two finger pillowy head that slowly recedes leaving nice lace. Nose is strongly oak and wine with yeast and some toffee with a muted citrus. Sweet malt at the front is quickly overtaken with a grape tartness and then a citrus bitterness with grapefruit and pineapple with the finish returning to a light tartness. Medium sticky mouth and the long tart finish drinks more like a wine. Lots going on here.
