cask days 2011.
nice subtle spice, some yeasty notes, and light fruit. with a quite decent pungent citrus hop punch. i would like to see this with a little more lively carbonation, but yes i know it’s a cask. finish was medium bitter with a good pithy, resinous hop finish. a touch oily i found in the finish. good stuff though.

Bouteille 500ml, gracieuseté de msjpearson, Thanks Mike! Couleur orangée limpide, mousse beige pâle crémeuse laissant une belle dentelle. Arôme de pamplemousse, levure, poussiéreux, malt. Goût de pamplemousse, malt, levure, alcool, bonne amertume, houblon fruité, côté fermier. Carbonatation moyenne-faible, corps moyen.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a dark golden color with a large creamy white head that lingered and left exceptional lacing. The aroma was faint with yeast, citrus, mustiness and a hint of perfume. The flavor was bitter perfume, citrus and fruity hops. Very long bitter finish. Medium body. Meh.

Bottle: Poured a deep amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of fruity yeast with some bitter floral hops notes is pretty enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by floral hops notes with some fruity ester and a solid dry caramel malt backbone. Body is full enough with good carbonation. Well brewed overall thought maybe a tad too much bitterness for my liking.

Draft - Grapefruit citrus, grass and light sweetness. Clear gold with a good white head. Grassy hops and yeast esters. Light bitterness throughout into the finish. Nice.

(on draught at the brewpub, 12-20-12) Poured clear amber with a small, bubbly white head. Aroma of bready malts, rye I suppose, with some spicy yeast and a bit of citrus and leafy hops. Flavour mostly yeasty spice, grainy malts, some citrusy fruit and moderately high bitterness on the finish. Mouthfeel is moderately full and oily with light carbonation and no hint of booze. Not as much yeasty fruit on the palate as I’d like from a Belgian IPA, which can work well with the hops in my opinion. Still well-made, good balance, nothing really out of place.

Smells a little citrsy. Hops have a decent amount of fruit in them. Pours. Cloduy amber. Tons of lacing. Palate isn’t super complex, just a little bitterness and hop aftertaste. Pretty good for a regular IPA Though, above average complexity. On tap at volos.

A hazed amber IPA with a thin off white head. In aroma, Belgian spices, coriander, cloves, over floral hops, orange pulp, quite nice. In mouth, a smooth crisp malt with curacao, floral hops, light green apples, very nice. Cask Days, Oct. 30 2011.
