Concocted from a mix of organic Canadian two-row and crystal 60 malts, German summit and hallertau tradition hops, yeast, and pure spring water, comes a robust, hop-forward barley wine accented by a subtle malt sweetness and hints of anise. This uncommon brew is hearty enough for an epic trek through the Canadian hinterland or just to be enjoyed in the heart of winter at the fireside.

Bottle from Boundary Crossing, Vancouver
Golden hazy color with small compact head. Aroma of grainy malt, some bread, light chamomile. Semi sweet mouthfeel; cereally malt flavor, ordinary bitterness level, a bit fruity. Not a Barley Wine, somewhere between English Strong Ale and Strong Lager.

Hazy tan. Aroma is slightly fruity, nice hop. Taste is strong, harsh, cloying, but still with some brighter malts. A bit odd; I don’t hate it but it’s not that good either.

Draft - Sweet raw oak and sweet malt. Cloudy orange with almost new head. Caramel sweetness with a simple hop bitterness. Basic and not as bad as I expected.
