We have deviated a little from the traditional Witbier by omitting the usual coriander and citrus peel, but then blending into the kettle a huge addition of organic rhubarb puree. Cloudy, wheaty, dry and with that authentic Witbier thread of clove, Rhubie sports a distinct rhubarb flavour and classic rhubarb tartness.

Bottle - Sweet berry with a slight acidity. Pale clear gold with a thin white head. Pale malts and light berry fruit. If only the taste lived up to the smell. So bland.

Pale, straw. Some hay-like malt, dash of rhubarb, light, mostly a simple pale malt base, dash of rhubarb but arguably not enough, sweet finish with a little bit of alcohol.

Draught at Tap & Barrel, Coal Harbor, Vancouver
Cloudy pale blond color. Mild aroma of breadcrust and wheat. Dry mouthfeel, lean, with simple white bread flavor, but also a light tart and fruity touch from the rhubarb; the bitterness is very low. The final is lightly lemony.
Easy but refreshing; not bad, but just for the Wheat lovers.

650 ml bottle. Pours a very light hazy straw color with moderate head. Initial whiffs of sulphur followed by citrus, wheat, and coriander. Flavors of ash, dirt, applesauce, and wheat with only a faint hint of rhubarb - and not a good one at that.

650mL bottle, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out some light spice, rhubarb, wheat and crisp crackery malt. Flavour is very crisp and dry, with light rhubarb, wheat and crisp cracker malt. Light and refreshing, with a wheaty and lightly fruity finish. Good stuff for the style.
