The beer is soft-sour ‘Flemish red-brown’. A blend between a brown beer that could ripen for over a year in oak barrels and a young blond beer. The love for family and art is a most important pillar at Brewery De Leite. The father of brewer Luc was the 7th child in a family of 9. The friendship between the 8th in row, uncle Pol, and nephew Luc is deep. Cuvée Oncle Pol is dedicated to him. When introducing the beer, the brewer had conspired with the children of his uncle to give him a big surprise. They arrived with their father at the brewery ‘just to taste a beer’. At that moment, the brewer could proudly and happily present his dear uncle with the first bottle of this new beer.

Bottiglia. All'olfatto si esprimono sentori di sour. L'olfatto viene stimolato in maniera elevata e l'esistenza olfattiva è sufficiente.

Bottle from LCB. Pours a dark ruby red with small beige top. Aroma of sour plums and cherries with a slight woody note. Taste certainly has that sour deep plum fruitiness with a drying finish. Very tasty indeed. Brewery #1007

9 June 2023. At Café Rose Red, Bruges. Shared with the lovely Anke!

Hazy red-brown, stable, foamy, tan head. Aroma of malt vinegar, sour cherry, redcurrant, leather, blue cheese, brown bread, red apple. Taste has sour cherry, red apple & red berry in brown-bready, marzipan-like malt body, surrounded by funky vinegar & leather. Tart finish of cherry stone, vinegar and some wood. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Refreshing, not too complex in its acidity, somewhat maltier Flemish Red.

Welcome to Happy Bitterness For Beer People. Glue time. Dark red/brown with beige head. Gluey sour grapes, rust and breadiness. Monk business. Quite sour, with a little sweetened edge. Medium body and lots of fine carbonation.
