600ml bottle from the LCBO. Looks like a kristalwizen with a clear golden pour, and a small white head. Nice banana, yeasty, clove aroma, wrapped in some great smoked malts. The smoking is subtle, but solid, and upfront without being over powering.A perfect meld of both styles. They both stand out up front without crowding each other. The smoked malts really taste like beechwood smoked malts your would get in an Aecht Schlenkerla. Soft banana, clove finish with a good dose of smoke. great stuff!

Bottle - Smells like heavy yeast banana with light smoke. Pale gold with a thin head. Lightly smoked with banana. Interesting.

(bottle) clear pale yellow colour with a small white head; aromas of banana and wheat; refreshing, slightly sour flavour; did not find any smoke, like a kristallweizen with some banana flavour

Bottle: Poured a dirty yellow color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of solid wheat malt with some cloves notes and light smoked notes. Taste is quite refreshing with solid wheat malt backbone with some nice cloves notes but the smoked portion of the beer is more subtle then I would have anticipated. Body is about average with good carbonation. Solid job of exploiting all the subtlety of the wheat malt backbone but smoked notes are a bit too subtle for my taste.

Awesome !! Another 4-pack mixer of Beau’s for Oktoberfest. A smoked-hefe... nice ! Banana - yes, a smoky Rauchbier, not really. Pours a cloudy yellow colour with a creamy white head, decent retention and wet patchy lacing. Lots of banana aromas from the wheat with hints of lemon, making this one a refreshing summer brew. Again the wheat in the taste, but milder. The smokey malt is very, very light. So light, I can hardly taste it. A great beer, just wish I could taste the smokiness more.

A hazed golden hefeweizen with a thin creamy off white head. In aroma, a lightly smoked fruity ester with citrus and light sulfur notes. In mouth, a smooth smoked banana with light lingering peaty notes, medium bodied. On tap at Beau’s Oktoberfest Oct. 1 2011.
