Bottle - Roasted malts, molasses and some light chocolate notes. Jet black with a frothy light brown head. Lots of chocolate up front but none of the richness or bitterness I expect from dark chocolate. The finish is more milk chocolate and although it is a relatively clean finish it doesn’t lend itself to its name. A nice beer, but I am not tasting what I expect from the description.

Bottle. Dark chestnut, brown lace. Roasted aroma with broad chocolate motes. Creamy medium full body, dry on the exit. Really nice cocoa notes, certainly worth the effort that went into it. Pleasant.

Black color; medium sized head. Aroma of roasted malt, cocoa powder, but also dusty and metallic. The mouthfeel is rather smooth, not too dry; quite good flavor of roasted malt and chocolate; correct bitterness.
Straightforward, but also very good.

650 ml bottle from 16th St. Pours a dark brown with tan head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee grounds, hay, and roasted malt. Bitter chocolate flavor with nutty hints. Easy to drink. Not heavy.

650mL bottle, pours dark brown / black with a reddish tinge. Aroma of dark bittersweet chocolate, burnt molasses, and some roasted notes. Flavour of bitter dark chocolate, light roasted notes, with a distasteful metallic note on the finish. Palate is watery thin, leaving much to be desired. Decent but the metallic notes / bitterness are not pleasant.
