Bottle at CapFlu’s Blomster Bash; vintage 2012, 2 years old
Black color with brownish small head. The aroma is a bit metallic with some roastiness. Smooth mouthfeel, with light residual sweetness; nice combination of roasted malt and chocolate, caramel, quite rich; not old or oxidized.
Very good.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color ale with a rather large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of light cherry with some roasted malt and light residuals sugars notes. Taste is a complex mix of roasted malt with some light cherry notes and some residual sugars with light dry fruits notes with candy ester. Body is pretty full with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very interesting mix with nice balanced between all elements.

Bottle - Yeasty citrus, some spice, dark fruit and roasted malts. Solid black with a thick brown head. Roasted malts, light roast coffee, milk chocolate, dark fruit, sweet molasses and a little alcohol heat. Fantastic mouth feel, a definite cold day rich heavy beer. These guys keep getting better.

A light-tasting Belgian strong - no pun intended. Pours black with good initial head and lacing. Has some perfume, roast malt and booze in aroma. Finishes a little woody with some sweetness. Body is medium, a little light for style. Pretty good balance overall, but light - it doesn’t taste quite like the big beer it ought to be. Bottle.

650 ml bottle. Pours a reddish dark brown with light persistent head. Aromas of wood, roasted malt and dark fruit. Flavors of chocolate, coffee beans, vanilla, and plums. Smooth and warm with a light bitter finish. A great beer. Updated 2019, new release in 473 ml cam. Pours a very dary brown with moderate foamy tan head. Aroma of lightly smoked malts, sweet sharp dark fruit and dark sugars. Flavor follow same with a little metallic Belgian yeast and vanilla. Not getting the coffee and plums from the previous batch. Good but not the incredible first iteration. Will let the former stand... Now 8/4/8/4/15

22 oz. bottle, pours a dark brown / black with a reddish tinge and a small beige head. Aroma of plum, wood, a noticeable hop presence, chocolate malts and slight licorice. Flavour of dark cherries, plum, wood, considerable hoppiness, and chocolate / licorice malts. Full-bodied, rich and complex. Another excellent beer from Lighthouse.
