Under the cover of malty darkness, mighty hops are poised to attack. It’s a mysterious blend of flavours that could only come from Cascadia.

On tap at London Pub, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out a decent balance of roasted malt and resinous hops. Flavour is well-balanced, with caramel, toasted malt and light resin. Pretty simple black IPA, but clean and balanced. Solid stuff.

Dark brown. The aroma is appetizing with a lot of wood and a lot of chocolate. Rich, creamy, lots of chocolate and nutty character. Plenty if bitterness and light citrusy hop flavour as well.

Cask at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
The color is near black, the head is sparse and small. The aroma is light, some roasted malt, wood oven baked bread, infinitesimal fruity touch (apples). Soft mouthfeel, lean; roasted malt flavor, nice and not excessive or ashy, with very light dark chocolate touch; strong bitterness, a bit resiny, but the hopping is subdue compared to others.
Good, lean, easy to drink, yet quite simple version.

Has an okay aroma of roasted barley with some coffee. Lacking in the appearance department as seems to be standard for GIB brews. Flavour is some coffee and barley malts with a hoppy finish. Somewhat watery palate. Rates a "meh" to me.

Bottle - Chocolate, roasted malts and some earthy hops. Jet black with a think brown head. Roasted malts dominate with some grassy hops in the background, with a hoppy bitter finish. I prefer a larger hop profile, but still not a bad beer.

650 ml bottle. Pours a very dark red/brown with medium head. Aromas of pine and dark fruit. Flavors of pine, citrus, and roasted malts. Nice enough for a couple of glasses though a bit lightweight.
