Upfront citrucy hops, tropical fruit, light malts, but no pineapple yet. The flavor is a medium bitter, and as the beer warms the pineapple is more evident. The finish is bitter but not over powering, a good session beer. The hops are there but they dont seem to trash my palette.

This ipa poured a light amber colour with a creamy, off white head. Scents include must, oats and leather. Light lacing. First swig was malty with flavours of tea and light fruit. Finish was a little bitter with that musty tea flavour lingering.

Keg at Ottawa Winter Brewfest. Disclaimer: This event used plastic cups, which may have prevented my ability to fully appreciate this beer. Hazy dark amber, mid sized head. Cardboardy nose. Mid sweet with medium body and clean mouthfeel. Cardboard and... wet paper. Metallic finish. Eh.

At a tasting, thanks, small stable bubbly head, hazy orange color with yellow taints, aroma of fruit Popsicle and some citrus, flavor of melon with some herbal bitterness and a hint of soapiness. Nice and easy but not too complex.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks troubles. Hazy golden. Aroma of slightly stale citric hops. Flavor has a bit of sweetish malt, and bitter citric hops, a bit stale. Medium-bodied.

Draught @ Stout Irish Pub, Toronto. Pours slightly hazy amber with small white head, Clear aroma of malt and hops, with fruity and estery touches and citric hints. Bitter, hoppy flavour with estery notes and touches of malt and fruit, possibly orange peel as well. Mild, estery and slightly fruity aftertaste. Low carbonation. Refreshing and agreeable but not top-notch.

Glass, 4-ounce, draught, during the Mondial de la bière, savoured on June 13 2014; eye: caramel with an orangey hue, lightly hazy, tiny ring of tan head, no lacing; nose: sour, infected; mouth: sour, infected; overall: why serve infected beer?

On tap at the Ottawa Beerfest. Hawaiian Style Pale Ale served in my 5$ Spearhead tasting snifter. Their flagship beer pours an opaque copper-orange. The nose is a burst of piney orange citrus hops. Not sure what they mean by Hawaiian but this is quite good. It has a crisp mouthfeel of palate cleansing bitterness, It’s a clean bitter hoppy pale ale with a solid malt backbone.

Bottle from the LCBO. Pours a light slightly hazy amber with a small white head. Nose is pine, grass and citrus with definite pineapple notes. Sweet malt backbone leads to a nice bitter blend of pine and citrus. Far from being distracting, the pineapple blends seamlessly with the usual Pale Ale character to make a really interesting beer. Body is a bit light but the slick mouth and good carbonation leading to a dry bitter finish are excellent. Really enjoyable.
