Lakewood is more than a place. It’s a state of mind. Old blends with new. Traditions hook up with fresh ideas. It’s the same with our Lakewood Lager.

We’ve taken old world Vienna-Style lager and given it our own touch. Subtle caramel aromas, a coppery pour and a light malty sweetness paired with noble hop bitterness set this beer apart. In with the old, in with the new.

Can at DFW Saucer, 2/15/23, undated. Clear, amber-auburn. Beige head is small, well-retained. Juicy caramel, light, herbal hops. Toasted popcorn? Whew, so much caramel and buttered popcorn. Rich toasted bread, moderate bitterness. Vanilla, toffee...weird beer, sweet and malty yet somehow bready enough and floral hopped to balance. Sourdough lingering. Popcorn...toast. a bit too much specialty malt going on here.

12 oz. bottle purchased at Total Wine in Denton, TX. Pours a clear bronze color with a beige head and decent retention. A spot of lacing. Aroma of caramel malts. Good caramel flavor to start, interrupted by the light hops bitterness. Good, almost really good. Low carbonation. Clean and easy drinking.

Draft at the Grand Lux Cafe in the Galleria in Dallas, Texas. The pour is a slight haze copper reddish with a small, well formed white head. The aroma is sweet caramel malt, along with a hint of grassiness. The taste is nice bread malt up front, turning to the caramel malt which also shows some apple fruit sweetness. There is a touch of the grass in the finish. The palate is medium to light bodied, active carbonation, clean dry finish. Easy drinking, solid Amber Lager.
