Glacier Amber Ale is modeled after the German Altbier. It is deep amber-brown in color and has a caramel malt flavor balanced with moderate hop bitterness.

Sample at Mackenzie River Pizza Co., Bozeman. Pours hazy dark amber with a lasting, foamy, off-white head. The aroma contains malt, caramel, bread and some herbs, but is not that intense. It tastes light sweet and light bitter with a medium long finish. Light body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Enjoyable but underwhelming.

Bottle. Caramel malt and astringent hay aroma. Amber with small head. Mildly sweet caramel malt and mildly bitter/astringent hay flavor. Good body. A solid Altbier.

Bottle: Clear copper with a small off-white head. Caramel, roast aroma. Taste is rich caramel, a hint of peanut..... A husky, oily, earthy bitter. Nice body.... Very enjoyable.

Has a caramel accent, a bit earthy, and a touch of sweetness. Mellow, balanced, a decent amber, if not really like any altbier I know.

A clear deep amber coloured brew with a small head of foam.
The smell is decidedly malTy with nice grainy notes and suggestions of fruit.
Dang, the malt character in this Alt is so delicious. Backed by a good grain bill and again, more than a hint or 2 of fruit which I find mostly in the finish.
Smooth mouthfeel. .I reckon I will buy more Glacier soon. A Very well crafted example of the style.

Tap @ Famous Dave’s in Bozeman: Brownish copper pour with a thin off-white head. Decent bits of lacing. Mild aroma is lightly floral hops with a little roast. Flavor development is similar. Not much going on here past the earhty florals and light roast. Kinda boring.
