Creative in spirit and flavor, India Style Pale Lagers are loosely defined and somewhat mysterious, making the style a fitting backdrop for two newly discovered hop varieties; Ella from Australia creates notes of orange peel, pine, and tropical fruits while Hallertau Blanc from Germany adds hints of floral, grassy, and herbal basil. The result is a playful and inventive hop character brought together by the crispness of a lager.

12 oz bottle poured, from Matt. Golden orange, somewhat cloudy pour. Nice aroma of grains, grassy hops, and orange peel. Flavor is mostly crisp and refreshing. Has a sweet side that lingers. Orange like fruit. Cool constant. Very flavorful lager. Good summer type beer.

Bottle from kroger. Slightly darker pale with a light yellow head. Smell is mild IPA. Taste is IPA. What up with everything that has to be IPA today? WTF? This may be lager by design but its all terribly on style mouth coating volatile IPA all the way. What else can be said? Go figger.

Food Lion bottle. Slightly hazy golden with a soft ff-white head. Gotta say, it looks nice. Lagery aroma with citrus peel. Flavor is of lesser quality. Bitter grasses, lots of hops (but not delicious hops), bitter glue, some cracker. Meh.

Decent take on the style, mixing lager fruitiness with a bright citric hop character, remaining drinkable despite never really bringing out the best of either element. Apple esters with a distinct grainy malt backbone mix with moderate citric hops, leading to a discernible floral Hallertau finish. Nose follows suit, citric yet lager-y, and the pour’s a pretty gold with ample head and lacing. Good bubbly texture, but overall not strong enough in either camp to make it memorable. Still drank the pint, though.

Pours an amber from a bottle, spicy German hoppiness is exacerbated by macerated orange peel, incarcerating my 1,101st rating. Good beer.

Decent enough hoppy lager. Light, clean malts, mildly grassy and citrus hops. Medium body, golden color.

Bottle at inlaws part of variety pack. Deep Golden pour. Nose is tangy citrus and some hops. Some of that lager yeast, lime, florals, bread. Slight funk finish.
