Creative in spirit and flavor, India Style Pale Lagers are loosely defined and somewhat mysterious, making the style a fitting backdrop for two newly discovered hop varieties; Ella from Australia creates notes of orange peel, pine, and tropical fruits while Hallertau Blanc from Germany adds hints of floral, grassy, and herbal basil. The result is a playful and inventive hop character brought together by the crispness of a lager.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a slightly hazed deep golden color. Capped by a thick, dense long lasting white head with wonderful lace. Subtle floral hop nose is reminiscent of lime, tropical fruit and pine needles. First sip yields complex notes of toasted malt, honey, citrus peel and grassy hops. Crisp, dry midtaste has hints of orange peel and pink peppercorns. Finish is dry with notes of Thai basil and lime zest. Nicely balanced and very tasty.

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, best before 5/2017. Pours slightly hazy golden yellow/light orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, passion fruit, pear, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, pepper, pine, light caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, passion fruit, pear, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, pepper, pine, light caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, passion fruit, pear, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, pepper, pine, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/sticky/resinous, and bready/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6%. Overall this is a great IPL style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the balanced bitterness. Really great fruity/tropical presence from Ella/Blanc, with balanced citrus/piney C hops. A bit dank. Nice malt backbone without being sweet. A really enjoyable offering.

12 oz bottle from the spring variety pack. Aroma is doughy, floral, peppery, cereal grain, grassy hops, orange candy circus peanuts. Pours slightly hazy orange with a bone-white head that falls after a minute into a ring. Taste starts out sweet with that weird circus peanut note before a high grassy herbal hop bitterness sets in and lingers. Not too bad. Edit: after it warms up, the unwelcome sweet malt character hinted at with the circus peanuts comes to the fore and ruins things.

Mixed twelve pack from a grocery store. Pours a clear copper color with a large white head. A light toasty nose, some citrus. Soft, floral, citrus, some herbal tea, pretty flavorful in the core though, light sweet malts. Quite enjoyable. Lemons and oranges in the middle, dry earthy finish.

Bottle from the mixed 12 pack from Country 3 Corners. Mostly clear deep golden color with a huge frothy white head that slowly recedes while leaving plenty of stickies on the glass. Earthy pine and citrus with a hint of onion and a solid bready light caramel maltiness. This one is pretty good.

12oz bottle on 13th May 2016 in California while on holiday. Clear amber pour into a Corsendonk badged tulip, the head a decent deep blanket of white foam. Citrus lead to the nose and taste with a mild maltiness for a base, some tropical fruity notes appear as the beer warms a little. OK.
