2012 bottle. Poured brown tan. Roasted malts and fruits and a bit of spice. Not reminding me of American barley wines but that’s just fine

Bottle split at Leightons gaff, thanks to Leighton, 08/11/18. Nut brown with a decent beige cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is dusty stewed fruits, pissy knickers, vinous aroma, toffee. Taste comprises tangy dark fruits, wooded notes, nutty, spice, dark malts, dried fruits, brown bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with mellow alcohol. Respectable enough barley wine.

Bottle shared in London - picked up in the US. Pours mostly clear amber with a bubbly tan head. Nicely aged, certainly some present oxidation, lots of toffee, ripe berries, a little earth. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Soft warmth in the finish, toasted brown bread, toffee, leathery berries. Nice stuff.

330ml bottle, Nov 14. Pours mahogany brown with thin off-white head. Not as rich as expected with this ABV, rather smooth, drinkable and balanced with mild dark fruits, brown sugar and malts. Went down quick.

33cl bottle pours with a dark mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up pretty inviting caramel and plum to fig like sweet dark fruity esters that rolls into a bit of booziness at the end of the draw. The taste is very nice as it delivers a pleasing blend of sweet caramel, a dash of chocolate malts, sweet plum and fig like fruity esters and then a boozy bite with faint astringent notes to add just the right balance. Darn nice sipper.

Bottle. Prune, cherry, and caramel malt aroma. Medium brown with minimal head. Sweet raisin, toffee malt and moderately bitter herbal orange peel flavor. Body a bit light. Hides its strength well.
