500ml on tap. Pours clear gold with a small white head. Aroma is malt, white bread, faint spicy-floral hop. Taste is light sweet, malt, grain. Light bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. Nice clean helles, but underhopped.

From tap at Bollywood Taste in Ottobrunn, with a delightful achari chicken tikka. I've had this beer before (duh, 20y in Munich) but somehow never rated. Light grain, malty taste, lightly herbal with moderate hop bitterness. Pretty good for a mass produced beer.

(Draught at Maximilians, Berlin, 14 Aug 2024) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with notes of bread, cereal, citrus, grass and hay. Malty taste with bread, cereal, herbs, citrus, grass, hay and a mild herbal bitterness. Medium body, with a slight malt sweetness. Clean and well balanced. Quite nice.

Hacker-Pschorr Münchner Hell, Flasche von Getränke Hoffmann, Berlin; verkostet im Direktvergleich mit dem fränkischen Neuzugang Pau Hana Bier Helles Lager. - Goldgelb, blank. - Nase deutlich weniger frisch als beim Pau Hana, beinahe schal, hellmalzig mit leichter Süße und sehr milder herbaler Hopfung. - Antrunk sauber aber ein wenig banal hellmalzig mit ausgewogener Malzsüße. Milde, aromatisch unauffällige Hopfung, blaß zitronig und knapp herbal. Milder rezent. Im Abgang gedämpfte aber noch ausreichende Hopfenherbe. - Ein gehobenes Industriebier ist es, was Paulaner hier abliefert, einigermaßen solide und für viele Anlässe ausreichend aber ohne Pfiff und ohne das besondere Etwas. In den fränkischen Bierhimmel werden solche Biere nicht gelangen. (23.7.2024.)
