12 oz bottle from the summer variety pack. Aroma is bready malts, toast, dark fruits, caramel. Pours clear copper with a medium off-white head with decent retention; leaves a little lace. Taste is sweet, toasty and wheaty, turning a little tart mid-palate; a little dry in the finish. Has a metal/blood off-note. Body is a little thin, carbonation high. No Belgian character that I can tell. Not bad, not good, just middle of the road.

Bottle @ home, picked up at RJs Fort Collins. Pours a clear, dark orange appearance with a thin tan head. Somewehat herbal grassy hoppy, orange citrusy, spicy, slight bready aroma. Tangy, somewhat zesty floral, citrus peel, toasted bready flavor with a bit low carbonation. Bleh.

Pour is a clear brown with a average white head. Aroma is malt and a very minor ester. Flavor is better with some caramel malt and you definitely get lots of the orange peel. Finish is clean an uneventful. It’s ok nothing special worth a sample I guess.

12 ounce bottle. This is probably an alias, but rating it just in case. Pours a clear copper color with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of, well, not much. Faint caramel and wheat. The taste is bready malts, nutty notes, stone fruits, a salty note and mild raisin and hops. Medium bodied.

12 oz bottle from my daughter’s sampler pack. Nose is caramel,a little citrus, and a very light note of the hibiscus. Lightly hazy copper orange with a medium, heavy lacing, long lasting beige head. Flavor is lightly sweet caramel, a hint of bitterness, and a little pepper. OK, not horrible, much better than an average pale lager.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a dark caramel with a half finger of off-white head. Aroma of orange zest and dark wheat. Taste is light bitter and light sweet. Herbal and burnt caramel with a little grain. Medium bodief with a decently thick texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not bad. Enjoyable but not super special.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours clear copper with a creamy, transient beige head. Aroma is floral/citrus with some subtle caramel backing. Med body. Flavor is more floral than anything else, with a little sweet caramel. Some citrus in the finish. Which is more malty than not.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel color with a small foamy tan head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was caramel, molasses, butter and faint vague fruity hops. The flavor was molasses, caramel, honey and faint vague fruity hops. Medium length finish and medium body. Ok.
