Last year's edition of Lupulus' yearly magnum bottles, thanks Goedele for sharing. Mousy, egg-white, medium thick, papery lacing, stable head, hazy yellowish golden robe with light greenish tinge and a 'fog' of small yeast dots throughout. Aroma not very Citra-like, very Belgian but pleasant enough nonetheless: camomile, old dry thyme, lemon zest, lemonbalm from an old herbarium, green apple, banana, white bread, wormwood, straw, dough. Sweetish onset, pear, some banana and pineapple, fizzy carbonation, bready malt sweetish middle with a light soapiness to it; spicy notes become more apparent in the finish, thyme upfront, with a very specific retronasal aroma; the hops add wormwood-, white pepper- and old dried lemon peel-like effects rather than the fresh citrus juiciness I tend to expect from Citra. Light phenols too, with a bready, quite hay-like hop bitter finish, quite satisfying. I liked the 2017 version better, but this is still a very decent, saison-ish, easily drinkable and technically well-made Belgian ale.

F: big, snow-white, long lasting. C: blonde, hazy, yeasty particles. A: malty, citrus, lemon, grassy, grapefruits, lemon peels. T: malty backbone, citrus, fresh lemon, alcohol is quite well hidden, fresh lemon, bit herbal, very refreshing, medium body and higher carbonation, good one, sample from 150cl bottle @ RBBSG 10/2018.

Thank you! 1500 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG 2018. Golden creamy white head. Nose is pencil shavings, esters, grain, faint green, slightly better than taste,… Carbonation is too high & beer is oddly sweet with milky yeast, grain, sweet white bread, sugar, disappointing, below expectation for Lupulus, meh.

6/X/18 - 1.5L magnum bottle from Geers (Oostakker), shared @ late RBBSG, Brouwerij Totem (Evergem), BBE: 2021 - (2018-1525)
Clear pale yellow beer, big solid creamy white head, stable, bit adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very soapy, floral, hint of citrus, bit lemony, lemon candy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: fruity start, citrus notes, a bit of tropical fruits, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: more citrus notes, bit floral, slightly soapy, not very convincing. If you say "Cryo Citra Hops", I want them jumping in my face when I smell and taste the beer. Here it's barely noticeable.

Sampled from bottle @ late RBBSG. Clear yellow color, small white head. Smell and taste both have a very pleasant citra hoppiness, lightly malts, quite nicely bitter, slightly floral. Decent body, firm fizzy carbonation.
