The dubbel in this Eifel series, at least conceived at Büllingen in the German speaking part of Belgium, but apparently executed by Van Den Bossche in Flanders. Large-bubbled, yellow-beige, irregularly shaped, opening head over a misty caramel brown robe with ruddy glow. Aroma of red apple slices, brown bread, pear, old raisins, wet caramel, clove, dry autumn leaves, touch wodka, tea. Sweetish, fruity onset, hinting at pear and medlar but also showing this somewhat 'sharper' blueberry-like note; fizzy carb, smooth body. Caramelly core, brown bread too, slick and clean, with light (phenolic) spicy notes of clove and rosemary, paired with herbal hops adding a bittering touch - but malt sweetness remains the main factor. Simple and a bit rough around the edges, but decent and effective if you are after a typical Belgian dubbel.

F: medium, tanned, not long lasting.
C: dark brown with coppery hue against the light.
A: light caramel spicy, bit chocolate and coffee, bit herbal.
T: medium malty base, light caramel herbal spicy, mellow fruity, chocolate touch, dry on the palate, medium carbonation, ok for the style, enjoyed.

Huge thanks to Erzengel for sharing! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Fine malty aroma. Starts roasty-malty, not too dry, light sourish touch, not too intense. Some nice malty-caramel notes, light earthy. Finish well balanced. I liked it!

Pours darek, unclear brown, smell is rather weak. Mild darker malts ( very mild ), bit yeasty ( mild ) . taste is medium to medium low, intense, milder dark malts. Bit coffee. Mild caramel. Weak body and medium carbo. OK at best.

19/XI/19 - 33cl bottle @ HoReCa-Expo Gent, BB: n/a - (2019-1843) Thanks to the brewers and the Ghent Beer Posse for sharing today’s beers!
Clear brown beer, big creamy off-white head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: dusty, bit sweet, spicy, soft roast. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: bit sweet, malty, soft bitterness, bit hoppy. Aftertaste: bit metallic, watery, not sweet, soft bitterness, rather boring.
Shared with Erzengel! A clear reddish brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of dark moderate sweet caramelized malt, nuts, red fruits, spices. Taste of sweet caramelized malt, chocolate, brown malt. Okay!

Smooth malty nose. The beer starts malty with a nice fruity spicy back. Easy to drink with a dry and slightly bitter finish. Caramel, biscuits, cake with caramel and a moderate bitterness. Brown sugars in the back, nice one.
