7/12/224. Bottle from Beerdome online store. Pours close to black with a short lasting beige head. Aroma is treacle, roasted malts, woody, port, liquorice, chocolate, dried fruits. Medium sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Quite full bodied, very smooth, soft carbonation. Some nice warmth to finish. Decent.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a thick, opaque black with a tiny, brownish head. Soft roastiness but also dark, overripe fruit and molasses. Rich, sweet, raisiny body. More molasses and caramel than roastiness. Faint wood and some Port like accents. Warming finish with little bitterness. Low carbonation. Very delicious. 230323

Port-barrel aged stout by this trusted Estonian craft brewer, sampled at Billie’s Craft Beer Fest. Yellowish beige, moussy, open head on a blackish beer with hazy mahogany edges. Aroma of indeed clear tawny port, heavily weighing in on impressions of black ‘fondant’ chocolate, coffee grounds, wet leather, toasted walnuts, burnt caramel, dried prunes, wet oak wood. Sweetish onset with slight sourish edge and light umami accent, hint of plum and dried blackberry, medium carbonation, full and oily mouthfeel; thick caramelly, toasty and walnutty malts with thin bitter-chocolatey edge, clear port in the end adding warmth, sweetness and soft spiciness, its alcohol combined with the beer’s own alcohol becoming a tad tiring in the very end; light earthy and herbal notes too, and obvious, long-stretched but not overly tannic woodiness. Not as sweet as feared, in all, and everything works well together, though I personally think quadrupels and other ‘brown’ (rather than black) beers seems more suitable for port barrel ageing.

330 ml bottle. Pours black with short tan head. Aromas of old oak, sweet dark fruit, vanilla, fruity chocolate, and slick roasted malts. Flavors of dark chocolate, sweet port, black cherry, and clean roasted malts. Light mouthfeel is the only hint of the ABV. Very good

330ml bottle. Quasi black colour with small, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, dark beige to tan head. Woody, fruity and dark malty aroma, notes of cherry, black cherry, red berries, dark chocolate, cherry flavoured dark chocolate, whiffs of liquorice. Taste is dry woody, fruity and sweet-ish, dark malty, notes of cherry, black cherry, dark chocolate, Sherry, Port, a touch of Marsala, hints of blue grapes, red berries; lingering, fruity, slightly warming, alcoholic finish. Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine, soft, still efficacious carbonation. Excellent BA support, almost refreshing fruitiness, dangerously drinkable - very, very good.

Bottled 330ml (Beergium) Dark brown colour, tiny beige head. Toasted, vanilla, toffee, alcohol ... but nice Port one ... and hints of coffee/cocoa. Full-bodied. Smooth vineous palate. Toasted malts, some milky notes, portwine, flavour is not boozy. Flavour is not unfortunately up to aroma's level.

Historische overwinning bij Scrabble tegen René v. Ongekend. Ik moet inhouden om dit bier niet ongeproefd een 5 te geven. Is ook wel een prima stout. Smaakt ook alsof ie precies lang genoeg gelegen heeft. Top.
