We chose to call this a tropical stout because we have added tropical spices like vanilla beans and licorice. This beer has spent two years on Aquavit barrels from Agder Brenneri. The flavorful and aromatic sugars have also added further to the spicy and boozy feel of this stout. Aromas from aquavit, bourbon vanilla and licorice. Even at 12% ABV this spiced stout is easy drinkable.

Endelig er det mandag igjen, og seremonimester Melberg er klar til utskjenking av humørskapende styrkedråper. Vi har som vanlig startet med de nye fatølene, og her får vi den siste av fem. Nesten helt svart med tett, beige skum som varer til glasset er tomt. Intens og kompleks aroma og smak med lakrissjokolader (tenk Bassett's), hjemmelaget sjokoladedessert med mørke bær og håndbrygget kaffe. Myk, fyldig og innsmigrende. NØ holder koken! Og en meget generøs utskjenking, prisen (173 kr for 0,33) tatt i betraktning. Mi2 er Stavangers desidert beste tilbud for ølentusiaster.

Svart med fingerhøyt lys brunt skum. Lukter løvetann, urter, karve, muscovadosukker og molasse. Middels fylde. Lett floralsk bitterhet, søt melasse, kokos, dadler, trevirke, vanilje og alkohol. Middels lang. (Verkstedet, Oslo)

On tap at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours black with dense light brown head. Aroma of herbs, chocolate. Tastes very sweet with hardly any bitterness. Medium to full bodied. Smooth mouthfeel, sweet finish.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Black colour, moderate brown head. Aroma of roast malts, vanilla, chocolate, liquorice, oak, vinous notes. aquavit spices, brown sugars. Very sweet flavour, with the same elements as the aroma. Warming mouth- and throatfeel. Good beer, but maybe a bit too sweet.

Bakgården Både & 150219. Black color with a brown head. Aroma is vanilla, licorice, roasted malt. Flavor is wood, alcohol, aquavit, sugar, roasted malt, vanilla, licorice, spices, bourbon. Boozy beer with a lot of exciting flavors. A very nice one.

On tap at Både&. It pours a black body under a small dark brown head. Booze, licorice, spiced hints, heavily roasted malts and brown sugar on the nose. It's full bodied, rather warming and semi-sticky, with a very pleasant carbonation. Dark sugar, booze, spiced, herbal notes and lots of licorice in the flavor, with dark roasted malts and a touch of dark rye bread and prunes. Everlasting finish. A delicious one indeed, although too boozy. 190215
